Laurie Rohner is the owner and creative force behind Laurie Rohner Studio. Laurie has worked diligently 30 plus years honing her skill as a designer painter and a creative artist, and has held head positions and businesses in floral designer, furniture designer, a skill taught to her by her father, and decorative painter. Laurie first successfully ran her own flower shop and later opened her own gallery. She creatively found ways to show her paintings and furniture through her businesses. Laurie displayed her distinctive large watercolors alongside her signature garden style floral creations. She added her finely painted period pieces and old reclaimed decorative painted furniture. The shop walls were painted with fresco style murals. The shop was a great success due to Laurie's diverse talents. After 10+ years in the floral business Laurie decided to close her shop and moved to Vermont. She opened a gallery and gift shop called Whitefield. It was a lifelong dream but would be short lived; five years later Laurie sold Whitefield to care for her mother.
Today, Laurie has reestablished herself and with a new name has opened Laurie Rohner Studio featuring a new line of functional art. This wonderful collection is designed to uplift you yet meet your everyday needs. At the present all of Laurie Rohner Studios work can be seen at our studio located in Elkin, NC or you can purchase online at our many different venues.
Laurie has a BA in Studio Arts. She was born and raised in Northern New Jersey but has lived in various parts of the country which have included Vermont, Massachusetts, Michigan and Connecticut to name a few, until settling in the foothills of North Carolina with her companion, a Standard Poodle named Tucker.
